About Department:
The Department of History started functioning in the year 1987 with pass course and honours course was started in the year 2004. Earlier the department offered degree in Pass and Honours Courses up to the year 2022. In the new NEP format, the departments offer Major, Minor, Interdisciplinary courses.
Vision and Mission
Vision and Mission:
The focal goal of the department is to enhance the career of the students as History helps in understanding the future from taking lessons from the past. Our prime vision is to produce responsible citizen and characters containing high morale to build the essence of the society. Along with this our mission is to render proper guidance to the students for preparing various competitive examinations and to become learner in multi-disciplinary approach.
Courses Offered
NEP - Major, Minor, Interdisciplinary
B.A. Duration: Four Years (1+1+1+1). From 2023 onwards, Credit Based Eight-Semester Degree Programme Started.

· Major- 200 seats
· Pass- 200 seats
· Interdisciplinary – 200 seats.
Eligibility Criteria for Entry Level
1. For admission in the department of History the candidate should have passed H.S.
2. Candidate should have at history as elective subject in H.S.
3. Selection would be on merit basis and subject to the fulfilment of the state government reservation policy.
